Venus and Earth share a celestial harmony. After the Sun and Moon, the brightest point in the sky is Venus, often referred to as the Sun of the Morning, Bringer of Light, the Planet of Love and Beauty. She is our closest neighbour, kissing us every 584 days as she passes between us and the Sun.
Each time one of these kisses occurs the Sun, Venus and the Earth line up two-fifths of a circle further around the zodiacal circle and a pentagram of conjunctions is drawn. Seen from Earth the Sun moves round the zodiac while Venus whirls around the Sun. Connecting these conjunctions on a star chart over the 8-year period draws a flawless five-pointed star or petal-like mandala, known as the Rose of Venus.
Small loops are made when Venus in her dancing kiss seems briefly to reverse direction against the Stars.
This phi-fold nature of Venus and Earth’s dance extends to their closest and furthest distances from each other. We see this pattern repeated throughout nature.
Along with the Moon, Venus is one of the oldest timekeepers that has been tracked by ancient astronomers all over the World.
